Kids Fighting Hunger creates meaningful, hands-on service opportunities that bring people together for a common purpose: helping provide nutritious meals to people facing hunger.
Through volunteer meal-packing events, individuals and groups work side by side to package oatmeal and rice meals that are distributed to those who need them most. Some of these meals remain right here in Central Minnesota, supporting local food shelves and families within our own communities. Others become part of humanitarian relief efforts, traveling far beyond our region to provide nourishment and hope to communities facing hunger, disaster, and crisis.
To accomplish our mission, we partner with and empower volunteers of all ages from schools, sports teams, churches, businesses, families, Scouts, National Honor Society chapters, and other community organizations. Each group becomes an important part of the process, transforming individual acts of service into thousands of meals ready for distribution.
The impact of these events extends beyond the meals themselves. Volunteers experience firsthand what can happen when a community comes together to serve others. In the process, they gain a greater understanding of food insecurity and the challenges faced by our friends and neighbors both here at home and around the world.
At Kids Fighting Hunger, we don't simply package meals. We bring people together, turn service into action, and help communities fight hunger—one meal at a time.
